Awards Dinners

Spring is traditionally “Awards” season and here at Zaff HQ we’ve been getting red carpet ready, catering some of the biggest awards ceremonies on the show-biz and business calendars.

The inaugural Global Awards, held at the legendary Eventim Apollo, saw some of the nation’s favourite radio stations, along with the great and the good of the broadcasting world, recognise excellence in the fields of music, programming and news. This memorable evening also included special performances from Sam Smith, Rita Ora, Kasabian, Martin Garrix and Andrea Bocelli no less!

Working closely with creative powerhouse Energy the brief was to create a menu far removed from the awards ceremony norm.  In response we devised a grazing first course, designed to be enjoyed whilst guests “worked the room”, followed by an elegant but hearty Honey glazed breast and confit leg of Gressingham duck, spiced carrot puree, heritage carrots, duck fat potatoes and star anise jus.  A showstopping dessert, Chocolate Globe with textures of Black Forest was inspired by The Global Awards, and  nostalgic Pick and Mix followed by late night Lamb Shwarma with smoked hummus and preserved lemon lent a playful end to the upbeat evening.

The feedback was fabulous.

The food itself was way up there with some of the best we have ever seen/tasted, even Paloma Faith thanked the organisers’ LIVE on stage for producing such a delicious meal… she commented it was “very unlike most awards I go to”.

 We LOVE Paloma Faith!

Across town, we hooked up with Winter French at the equally iconic Roundhouse, for the 2018 Empire Awards, honouring the best in Film and TV achievement. A glittering array of global super stars including Mark Hamill, Steven Spielberg, Hugh Jackman, Idris Elba, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley tucked in to Pea ricotta, lemon tortellini, pea velouté, Guinea fowl, soft whipped polenta, broad beans, asparagus and peas, followed by a sharp Lemon and Limoncello Meringue Tart.

Again the feedback was effusive

Thank you so much for Sunday.  The service was super smooth and we’ve had excellent feedback on the food.  I think it was the best yet!

Meanwhile at the British Museum 700 corporate guests gathered together to honour and applaud their colleagues, and have a jolly good knees up to boot! It was one of the largest seated dinners the British Museum has ever held in the Great Court, and the cool, calm and collected Zaff Operations team set up the whole space in a breathtaking 45 minutes.

An award winning performance if we ever saw one!
