From April 2011 Zafferano becomes an accredited supplier of Wrest Park, an English Heritage property.
Set amongst 92 acres of magnificent formal gardens inspired by the gardens of Versailles, Wrest Park is a striking venue for wedding receptions, corporate functions and evening entertainment. The venue is also newly licensed to host civil wedding ceremonies.
The Wrest Park estate was home to the de Grey family from the 13th Century until 1917. The present Manor House was completed in 1834 and designed by Thomas Earl de Grey, an enthusiast for 18th-century French architecture. Open spaces and sheltered woodland are complemented by reflective expanses of water and ornate garden buildings, such as the 19th century Orangery, the Bowling Green House and Archer’s Pavilion.
An imposing entrance hall leads to five interconnecting rooms which make the most of the views and boast painted ceilings, gilding and rich furnishings. The Library can accommodate 100 guests for a wedding dinner, whilst The Orangery set away from the house, may also be used for events for up to 170 people. The extensive formal garden – one of the finest in the country – is a magical setting for marquee dinners and outdoor events for up to 2,000 guests.
