A Stylish Summer Wedding

A Wedding at the Royal Hospital Chelsea is always spectacular; a unique venue, it’s one of London’s architectural gems, bursting with heritage, sophistication and elegance.

Last month, we had the pleasure of catering and styling a small, intimate wedding reception in the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s 17th Century State Apartments. It’s a space which creates an impression as soon as you enter; high ceilings and oak panelled walls lined with striking portraits of Restoration luminaries, the perfect backdrop which places the bride and groom centre stage.

At this particular wedding , we kept the reception simple and stylish, with satin stripe white linen and brilliant white floral arrangements throughout The Council Chamber, the main room within the Royal Hospital Chelsea where the wedding breakfast was being held. Luxurious but delicate canapes were offered to wedding guests on arrival, using the best British, seasonal ingredients. Highlights included Lobster cones with spiced avocado and kimchi mayo, and Tomato macarons with goat’s cheese and spiced tomato chutney. For the seated dinner, we created a light and summery menu, starting with Cured salmon with compressed cucumber, followed by Rump of Lake District lamb with baby vegetables and marsh samphire. To finish, we offered a decadent and luxurious Glazed white chocolate, macerated gariguette strawberry, wild strawberry sauce and mint gel.

We have worked with the Royal Hospital Chelsea many times with luxury events spanning corporate dinners and meetings, to private banquets and parties, however weddings are our favourite. They give the opportunity for bags of creativity and there is a ‘performance’ element to the whole occasion which really appeals to what we do and how we do it.
