Zafferano Venue Bulletin

It has been a busy time not only for Team Zaff but also our exciting portfolio of iconic venues … here’s what’s been happening.

The Guildhall

We’re head over heels with the news that Zafferano are now accredited caterers at the Guildhall. Dating back to the 12th Century, and home to the City of London Corporation, Guildhall offers no less than seven flexible event spaces hosting up to 900 guests for both daytime and evening events, slap bang in the heart of the Square Mile.  We’re proud as punch to be part of the Guildhall Gang!

The Hurlingham Club

Across the other side of town, away from the hubbub of the city, set in 42 acres of fabulous and delicious green is The Hurlingham Club – another of Zafferano’s new accreditation venues. The Hurlingham Club is renowned as one of Britain’s greatest and most exclusive private members clubs but also can be hired privately for top notch Sporting and Social events.

Royal Hospital Chelsea

We’re happy as Larry to be re-accredited at the glorious Royal Hospital Chelsea – one of our absolute favourite venues. In an enviable location leading down to the banks of the Thames, this Grade I listed heritage site, designed by Sir Christopher Wren no less, offers a huge range of entertainment spaces from the Great Hall (next to the stunning chapel – perfect for Carol Concerts BTW!) the intimate State Apartments and the newly available Wren House and for outside sporting events Ranelagh Gardens and Burton Court. But the biggest attraction of all as far as Team Zaff are concerned is chewing the fat with the charming lady and gentlemen Pensioners who always have a story or two up their crimson sleeves…. We love the RHC!

Eventim Apollo

Further West and in marked contrast, the Eventim Apollo have also invited us to remain on their accredited supplier list. Surely the funkiest venue in our portfolio – the Apollo is perfect for large dinners, awards ceremonies, conferences and corporate get-togethers. Not surprisingly this venue attracts the uber cool music crowd and boasts its own awesome in-house AV kit.

Garden Museum

September saw our first event at the newly renovated Garden Museum. Apollo’s “40 Under 40 Global” was a celebration of 40 inspirational people, below the age of 40 who are making waves around the world creating or working with art. The Garden Musuem’s Nave and Sackler Garden gathered 150 of the great and the good of the art world together under the banner “Bringing the Outside In.” Our decidedly garden inspired menu served “Zafferano Little Garden Cones with Thai Basil Shoots” and “Honey Roasted Quail with Bergamot Jelly”. As Zaff Event Producer Lulu Summerfield commented “It’s wonderful to see the Zafferano team in this beautiful new space.” Well said Lulu! We’re all looking forward to our next Garden adventure.

V&A – New Entrance

Congratulations to the glorious V&A for topping the UK poll in the Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Awards and being the only UK institution in the top 10! 2017 has been an exciting year for the 165 year old high temple to Decorative Arts and Design with the unveiling of the dazzling Exhibition Road Quarter – a brand spanking new entrance, courtyard and purpose built gallery. Look out for some seriously cool exhibitions this season including “Opera: Passion; Power; Politics” and “Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion.” We’d love to show you Zafferano’s bespoke cocktail and canape menus for each exhibition – you only have to ask!

Natural History Museum – Hope The Whale

“And the best newcomer award goes to…..Hope the Whale.”  Replacing dear old Dippy who is spending the early part of his retirement travelling the length and breadth of the UK, Hope is a breathtaking 25.2m blue whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling of the Hintze Hall allowing guests the opportunity to party beneath her as she “swims” overhead.  The installation of Hope is the culmination of a stunning Hintze Hall renovation – assuring the NHM’s place as one of the top London venues for decades to come.
